Mother's Day

This year for Mother's Day, I was made a wonderful breakfast of eggs, biscuts, fruit, and a green smoothie. Jeff took pictures while Callie & Hayden followed orders and went to work. Everything was so yummy. It was a relaxing morning with Jeff at home as his Sunday meetings were just about all canceled. It was so nice! (no pictures of older boys, as they were sleeping in. Bells slept in until it was just about time to eat, which Jeff was really happy about :)

For dinner, my parents and brother and family came over for dinner. My parents organized the whole thing again, we just had to provide the house and salad and drink. It was great! It's so fun to get together and share laughs and memories.

Swim Team

Yesterday, was the first day of swim practice. I have always tried to keep my distance from swim team, because I have committment issues. Six days a week ALL summer long seems like torture. Especially as Eugene already plays a sport that is 5-6 days a week 11 months out of the year. But Callie was begging to do it. So, we decided to give it a try.

I figured Hayden might as well do it too, as he'll come to all the practices and meets. That little man did NOT want anything to do with it. After lots of discussions with him and tears, he still didn't want to do it, but got signed up anyways. On the drive over to the pool yesterday, I asked if everyone was excited, and he replied, "I'm not sure, my hands are all sweaty, but at least when I get in the pool no one with notice". Once we got there, he was such a trooper, and ended up having a great time. Thank goodness, or it would have made for a very long summer.

Afterwards, we headed over to Costco for a little ice-cream treat to top off a fun night.

12 Years

Jeff and I celebrated our 12 anniversary on Saturday. It was a busy day. It started with Mormon Helping Hands in the morning until about 1 pm. We were assigned to clean-up an elementary school nearby. We got to scrub and clean the playground equipment and do a little planting. We stayed clear of the painting projects, except Bells walked straight into a freshly spray-painted box on the black top, leaving a trail of footprints. Oops :)

In the afternoon Jeff and I headed over to the shooting range to shoot his shotgun. It was my first time shooting a gun ever. It was great! Sadly, I didn't hit one clay pigeon, but I blame it on how windy it was. I could hardly keep the hair out of my face.

We tried a new Mexican resturant for dinner. Not that great, but it was nice to sit back and relax, reflect on the past 12 years, and make some goals for the next year. All in all, it was a great day.
