The "real" 4

Little Dude has been going around all day today telling us that he is the "real" 4 today. Today is his 4th birthday, and on Friday he had his birthday party, but it wasn't his "real" birthday. So funny how their little mind works! On Friday, we had a Batman party for Little Dude with his friends. I LOVE throwing birthday parties for the kids, and doing fun little things that they will remember forever. Unfortunately, I didn't get started planning his party early enough, otherwise, I would have had Batman show up at his party, but didn't have time to pull together a costume. (Missy was telling Little Dude the day before his party that she thought the real Batman would come to his party! LOL! That's because for her last party she had Barbie Fairtyopia drop something off at her party, and the one before that, she had a real Princess come to her Princess party. Poor Little Dude- girl things are so much easier :)
But, I did my best to decorate the house like a bat cave :)

And we had Bat cupcakes and I found Batman socks and candies to give out as party favors.

For lunch we had pizza, cantaloupe and "special drinks" (aka -sugary kool-aid drinks in cool containers that our kids only get on their birthday :)

I made everyone a Batman cape, and we played lots of games where they had to "get the bad guys". Unfortunately, with this many boys, it ended up with a couple of bumped heads and noses :) But boy were they tough!

Today we had a much quieter celebration at home. Little Dude loved all of his gifts, and was so impressed that we knew what he wanted. It's not that hard when you go to the store and he tells you over and over, but if that's all it takes to impress him, we're happy :)

For his cake I tried a new recipe, a Chocolate Peanut-Butter-Cup Cake with Ganache Frosting. I know- sounds great right? But, it wasn't a "make again" cake, so I won't pass the recipe on. I only like to pass-on the best :) Hope everyone had a great weekend.

You made those bat capes? I thought you bought them somewhere!! Very Cool!!! ANdon had a lot of fun. I think he may have been one of the many casualties since he's sporting a red bump between his eyes. LOL! But Batman and his warriors are a tough crew! thanks for inviting him!!

Cher,
what an awesome party. You are so creative. I wish my brother Kody were closer to Sacramento. He has a Batman suit and he does an awesome impersonation. Does Hayden need a late phone call? :)
