Utah Part III: Timpanogos Caves

We hiked up to Timp Caves one day. I have hiked it a couple of times while I went to BYU, and thought it would be something fun to do with the kids.

It's 1 1/2 miles straight up the mountain, and was a little bit harder for kids than I remembered. Hence, I have never heard my kids ask " how much longer" and "are we there yet?" so many times before! We took lots of rests along the way, and after about an hour and 20 minutes our group finally made it.
The caves are cold, about the temp of a refrigerator, which felt really nice after the hike to them. Missy hated the hike and hated the caves, constantly stating how "nasty" they were. For a short time, I had nightmares about what teenage years are going to be like with her :) Little Dude on the other hand loved the caves, because Batman probably lives in a cave like them ( we are currently in a Batman phase)
The caves are also really dark and a bit creepy, if you think too much about the big fault line you can see running through them or if you are at all claustrophobic.

Resting up for the descent, which luckily is much easier than the way up.
