A few days ago I posted my thoughts and experiences with Proposition 8. I was surprised by comments and accusations made. There is a wonderful article the Church has released about defending traditional marriage and the repercussions for society in general if Prop. 8 fails.

Cher, I haven't read the church article yet, but I just want you know that you did a fabulous job defending those opposing comments. Seriously, I'm not sure I would have done so well. Secondly, be sure you recognize that those comments were from blog monitors, just searching blogs trying to sway people the other way. It's highly likely they post the same comments on several people's blogs and unlikely that they will return to view your rebuttal.
However, thanks so much for your diligence in kindly sharing your (and my) opinion and position. You go girl!

Holy crap! I go away for a couple of days and someone I love dearly is criticized like that! Seriously Cher, you did really good!! It makes me want to personally pull each blade of hair of their spindly little legs! Cause let's face it- they don't know what they're talking about!

They probably found you via a search engine. I have an open blog, but there's no open access via a search engine unless you know the address. I'm just throwing that idea out there in case you don't want crazies commenting. But then again, it's an opportunity isn't it?

Isn't it amazing how people want to have their own "rights" but don't want you to have yours? Great job on defending the truths of Prop 8 and even better on bearing your testimony. Some missionaries would be nervous to go as far as you did and so boldly proclaim not only your beliefs, but the truth.

Greetings from Colorado! I was talking to Mary and telling her about my friend who posted about prop 8 and how this guy started leaving LONG comments debating her. Mary said the same thing happened to you...so I came to see if it was the same guy. It wasn't. I see now that it could have been a lot worse. The guy from my friends blog was very civil in his comments. Not so for your blog. You did a great job keeping your cool! My husband was chomping at the bit to debate the guy on my friends blog! I think there are a bunch of these people just sitting around googling "Prop 8" and attacking anyone who writes in favor of it. I have to say.....I don't miss the politics of CA, but who knows.....we may be fighting the same fight here one day.
