Fathers & Sons and Girl Fun

Friday was the Fathers and Sons camp-out again, which Hayden had been anxiously waiting for. This year it was at Camp Nauvoo. The trip started off a bit rocky, as Hayden felt sick the car ride up there, and then threw up as soon as he got out of the car. (Luckily, Rex the dog took care of any evidence of Hayden being sick.... yep, it's what you are thinking- yuck!). Hayden threw up last Fathers & Sons too, except in the tent and all over his sleeping bag - talk about keeping up with tradition!. Jeff took up two of his Young Men, Elvis and Aaron.
(that's Rex the dog in the picture...the dogs Rex and Melan that live at Camp Nauvoo are seriously awesome. I would have ten dogs if they could all be like them... they do lots more cool stuff than clean up barf).

Breafast was cooked by the Bishopric, and consisted of pancakes, eggs, sausage, and Bishop's wonderful cinnamon rolls.

In the morning, Jeff took the boys on a hike, which Hayden loved. It got pretty steep at one point where they had to hold on to a rope to climb up. All in all, it was another great Fathers & Sons camp-out.

Missy, Bells and I had a great time at home too. We usually paint our toes, watch girl movies, eat out, but Missy's favorite tradition is going the mall to pick out a new pair of earrings. This year, she surprised me with her pick. She wanted enormous peacock feather earrings. I tried to show her other earrings instead, and told her if she got those she could NEVER wear them out of the house, only at home. She didn't care, but told me she "always has wanted earrings like these". So, after realizing that I don't need to control everything, and if she really wanted these earrings just to wear at home, so be it. The point was to let her have her pick, so I let her have her pick. ( it didn't hurt that they were on clearance and 1/2 the price of all the other earrings .... can't understand why nobody else wants enormous feathers hanging from their ears - lol).

She is looking so much like you! I hear you on the earings thing. Britt has very eclectic taste when it comes to earings, and in fact is sporting some red white and green christmas snowman earings today along with her pink and brown shirt. Visualize that one.
I too loved girl time as Doug took the boys up (briefly as it is tax season). It's always fun to spend time with the girls!
