Most nights when I make dinner, I can guarantee at least one person won't like what I've made, even if it was their favorite a month ago. But not on Mondays. I took an idea from my great friend Jessica, and let Callie & Hayden rotate being in charge of dinner and dessert on Mondays. It has been so wonderful, because 1) everybody eats their dinner without any complaints, 2) dinners are really simple, and take 30 min. max, and 3) Callie & Hayden feel really great about themselves learning how to do new things.
Hayden made breakfast burritos last night. We usually put in them: Tortillas (the kind you cook at home from Costco - these are delicious!), eggs, cheese, hash-browns, bacon, tomatoes, etc). These are beginning to be one of my favorite Monday dinners.
Callie made Strawberry Shortcake - which was pretty tasty. (Please ignore my alien looking fingers)

Hmmm - this sounds like a pretty nice idea to me (kids in charge of dinner). I'll have to consider it.
