We had a busy Saturday trying to squeeze in all of the Halloween festivities. It started with a trip to the pumpkin patch to pick out pumpkins. We were a little late this year getting our pumpkins, October flew by.
After Hayden's soccer game, we came home to carve them before the Ward Trunk or Treat party. We normally use the kits to carve, but this year the kids just free-handed their own faces, and carved 95% of it themselves. Truthfully, it was way more fun! While I still love the kits, I am a big fan of the simplicity of just regular old carving.
Hayden just loved scooping out the pumpkin guts. He volunteered to do all of the pumpkins. Callie giggled and laughed at how gross it felt.
That evening was trunk or treating at the church. We had 2 witches, 1 batman, and 2 teenagers :) Isabella loved getting candy. She ran around laughing that she had "all of it". The great pumpkin came that night for the two girls, Hayden decided he got too much good stuff to give away. Luckily the great pumpkin had a stash of little dollar store goodies, or else he would have had to give cash!
