On Saturday, we celebrated Eugene's 16th birthday. What a fun day we had. It started with pancakes and presents (Ipod was the main gift, but I think he is just as happy, if not more with his silky/furry black blanket!) After a morning of chores we headed out for a lunch. Eugene picked Hometown Buffet which was a big hit with the boys and kids, not so much with Jeff and me -haha.

Later that night a few of his football buddies came over to play Xbox and hang out. I was anticipating some roughness and maybe harsh language as they don't have the same standards and given the fact they are football players, but it was quite the opposite which was a pleasant surprise. While they were eating pizza, they were talking about getting out Monopoly Junior and smack-talking who would win!

Lastly, on Sunday evening, we had the youth in the ward over for cake and ice-cream. We had such a huge group show up! For someone who has never had a birthday party, it was wonderful to have so many people come to support and show their love for him.

Some of the things we love about Eugene ( we go around and each say something we love about the birthday person): He is very caring and considerate of others, he has a contagious smile and laugh, he is competitive and hard working, he plays games with us ( Callie & Hayden).
